The Secret Lives of Mushrooms by Teresa Marrone

August 21, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Teresa Marrone is the lead author of three regional mushroom ID guides, as well as the sole author of four ID guides for wild berries and fruits and numerous other titles. She has been visiting the Gunflint Trail area for 35 years and is a seasonal resident in the mid-Trail area with husband Bruce.

What—and where—is the largest mushroom in the world? (The answer may surprise you.) Have you ever heard of fungal intelligence, and species that appear to be able to learn and remember? (They are found up here!) Did you know that some mushrooms have over 15,000 different sexual identities (genders)? Join Teresa Marrone for an interesting look at some little-known fungal facts, from fun to fascinating.

All presentations are family-friendly and free to the public. Donations are always appreciated.
Take your time driving up the Gunflint Trail, and enjoy the scenery!
