Twin Cities artist Scott Krohn joins the Gunflint Trail Historical Society’s Artist-in-Residence Program for a ten-day residency from July 7–16, bringing his remarkable ability to capture the quiet beauty and intricate details of the natural world.
Known for his award-winning work in colored pencil, scratchboard, and charcoal, Scott creates highly detailed wildlife and landscape drawings that invite viewers to slow down and discover the extraordinary beauty found in everyday moments. His work reflects a lifelong fascination with nature and careful observation, celebrating the textures, light, and subtle details that often go unnoticed.

About Scott Krohn
Scott Krohn is a Minnesota artist whose work focuses on the beauty, complexity, and quiet presence of the natural world. Working primarily in colored pencil, scratchboard, and charcoal, he creates richly detailed drawings that have earned numerous regional and national awards. His artwork reflects years of careful study and observation, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the remarkable details found in wildlife and wild places.
