ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

A gift to the Annual Fund provides critical support to every aspect of Chik-Wauk’s programs and operations.  It bridges the gap between admission, membership, and gift shop revenue, and the actual cost of running Chik-Wauk and its programs.

Please consider setting up recurring donations through the online service. When opting for recurring donations, the amount specified is automatically charged to your credit card or debited from your bank account at the frequency you select.

ANISHINAABE EXHIBIT Opening May 2026

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society remains committed to preserving and sharing the history of all inhabitants of the region. In its early development stages, the new permanent  exhibit focuses on Anishinaabe, original and contemporary inhabitants of this rugged land.

Your contributions assist in securing matching grants and funding research, design, constructions, and technology for the Anishinaabe exhibit.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Inspires Connection and Creativity on the Gunflint Trail.

Sponsored by The Gunflint Trail Historical Society and Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society (GTHS) Artist in Residence Program (AiRP) allows artists and writers to spend time creating on the iconic Gunflint Trail while finding inspiration in its natural beauty, history, and community. Launched in 2022, the program nurtures creative exploration while deepening the cultural and environmental appreciation of this beloved region.

GIFT CLUB 2025

The Club was introduced around this time in 2019, and several stepped up to become the first members of this unique group of GTHS/Chik-Wauk supporters. With additional members joining since the first year, all are in a select group that has made possible several special items needed by the Chik-Wauk staff for program enrichment. These items fall outside of the general operations budget but are very important in enhancing the Museum/Nature Center experience for visitors.
