DESCRIPTION:Storytelling from the back roads is the collaborative work of the Historical Alliance of Cook County\, which includes; \n\nCook County Historical Society – Margaret Hedstrom will deliver a presentation concerning the history and ongoing preservation efforts related to the historic fishing tug\, the Nee-Gee.\nGunflint Trail Historical Society – David Hakensen talks about his new book\, Her Place in the Woods: The Life of Helen Hoover.\nSchroeder Area Historical Society – Katie O’Gara will read excerpts from the interview of author Mary T. Bell on her book\, Cutting Across Time\, Logging\, Rafting and Milling the Forests of Lake Superior.\nTofte Historical Society – Mark Gordon\, owner of Amicus Adventure Sailing\, a non-profit educational program.\n\nThe event will take place Saturday\, October 11\, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais and is free to the public. \nThe event will take place at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais.
